On January 13th 1962, Cascade opened its doors to skiers for the very first time. To say that placing a ski resort on this range of hills in Columbia county was a great idea would be a huge understatement. With millions of fond memories entrenched in the minds of 60 years worth of visitors from our wonderful customer base and staff alike, we want to welcome you all in celebrating this fantastic milestone! From expanded terrain to new lifts to highly improved snowmaking capabilities, a lot has changed since then. Over the years, we’ve taken a lot of pride in reinvesting in ourselves to provide the highest quality skiing and snowboarding experience that we’re able to offer and we will continue to do so for years to come. We hope that seeing this place grow has been as fun for you as it has been for us!
As a little 60th anniversary surprise, we’d like to give you a look behind the curtains on one exciting project that we’ll be working on when the snow’s gone and the chairs are no longer spinning. This offseason, we’ll be replacing our current Mogul Monster triple passenger lift with a brand-new fixed grip quadruple passenger chairlift. Looking a lot like our B-Dub lift, this quad will help us improve our uphill capacity and clear up a little more congestion in the base area compared to the current Mogul Monster Lift.
We’d like to thank both our customer base and staff for your continued support over the last 60 years and to the next 60+ to come!
