Last season marked the 2nd season of the Cascade Employee Scholar Fund. For those who aren’t familiar, this program was designed to award high school aged employees with additional funds on top of their regular wages to assist with the costs of postsecondary education. Students who complete their senior year of employment with Cascade are eligible for a $1 donation for every hour worked through consecutive seasons during their high school career. That means if you start working here as a freshman and continue working here until your senior year, you would be eligible for a $1 donation for every hour worked for the last 4 years.

Last season, 8 employees who participated in the program completed their commitments to both Cascade and their education and will be receiving their funds in the coming days! We’d like to thank and congratulate Jeremiah, Jasson, Emily, Rylyne, Aliyah, Kayleigh, Madison, and Lyla for their hard work both at Cascade and in the classroom! Checks were mailed out today, so you’ll be seeing them shortly!

In its first 2 seasons, this program has paid out a total of nearly $5,000 to 15 participants. We’d love to see the number of participants grow this season! If you or someone you know is interested, we’ll be looking to hire on some more exceptional employee scholars very soon. More info regarding this program is available on the Employment page of our website.
Looking to get your hands on some used equipment before the start of the season? You’re in luck! We’ll be hosting a ski swap Friday October 25 and Saturday October 26 from 10am-4pm. Whether you’ve outgrown it or upgraded, this is the perfect opportunity to sell some of your used equipment! Drop off your lightly used equipment (skis, snowboards, boots, and bindings only) and we’ll sell it on consignment. A portion of all ski swap sales will be donated to our Cascade Mountain Ski Patrol.

We’ll also be raffling off 3 FINISHED chair benches from the Mogul Monster lift with 3 different ways to win! Here’s how:

❄️ Every $100 spent at the ski swap = 1 entry
❄️ Purchase a season pass by the end of the ski swap (10/26/24 @ 4pm)* = 1 entry
❄️ Pick up your season pass during the ski swap (10am-4pm 10/25-10/26) = 1 entry

*This includes passes purchased prior to the swap! If you’ve already purchased yours, you’ve automatically been entered into the raffle!

New haul rope on Mountain Top Express ✅

Good work crew! Splicing haul ropes takes many hands and many hours of work 🪢
Always one of our favorite deliveries of the year ❄️

4 new @smisnowmakers kid polecats arrived today! Just a few short months until we’re putting these things to use ⛷️🏂
Park Crew is gaining some extra space to work with in Mountain Top Park this season 🤘 With a bit more room, the crew will have an easier time stocking the park with features and it will allow for a better ability to plan and shelve out better flowing setups.

Gaining some space also gives us the ability to give that park the snowmaking firepower it deserves. Mountain Top Park will now be the home of 4 fully automated Super Polecat tower guns! Having these guns in that park will help us to make more snow, much quicker by not having to rely solely on carriage guns and farming snow. These tower guns will also help with areas surrounding Mountain Top Park like Bi-Way, Easy Out, the Manitou Lift unload, and the Ptarmigan start shack.

Maybe you haven’t been thinking much about snow throughout the recent heatwave, but we definitely have been ❄️
Pardon the dust 🚧

Some big changes are happening at our employee housing units this offseason!

Our crew has also been back to work for about a month now and they’ve been tearing through some projects. Stay tuned to see what we’ve been working on 👷
That’s all folks! Just like that, the 2023/2024 season has come to a close. We’d like to thank our fantastic guests, staff, patrollers, and everyone else who helped to make this season another great one. Sure, the weather was a challenge (though let’s not forget we did get nearly 2’ of snow in a 5 day stretch in January 🤷‍♂️), but I can’t help but recall a whole lot of skiers, snowboarders, and tubers making the best of it day in and day out.

Fear not, snow will be making its return, and if it doesn’t, then we’ll just keep doing what we’ve been doing... Beefing up our snowmaking abilities and making winter happen whether Mother Nature wants us to or not. Enjoy the off-season and we’ll see you when the snow flies ❄️
Groomers are putting the pieces back together 🧱👷

Here’s the plan going forward. We’re going to stay closed this Friday 3/8 to give groomers one more day to work their magic and get as much terrain as possible prepped to open back up for the weekend. We’ll then be back open with regular hours this Saturday 3/9 & Sunday 3/10. After the weekend, we’re planning to be closed Monday 3/11 - Thursday 3/14 and then re-opening Friday 3/15 - Sunday 3/17 to close out the season. We’ll be losing some terrain since last weekend but the grooming staff is surprising themselves with how much they’re going to be able to salvage 🤘

Tickets for all remaining dates this season are available at discounted rates on our website. Our office staff is reaching out to issue refunds to anyone who pre-purchased for closed dates. For those who pre-purchased prior to the price drop, our office staff is reaching out give you some options.

Tubing will be open with regular hours 3/9 & 3/10. We’ll reassess Tube Town next week to determine if we can keep it open for the final weekend of the season.

Bonus days will be in effect every day that we’re open until the end of the season. This means all 23/24 Cascade season passes will be valid from open to close every day that we’re open from here on out ⛷️🏂
This recent weather sure has been something. High temps touched the mid-70s yesterday and we’re looking at some rain tonight.

After getting eyes on conditions this morning, we’re thinking that it’s going to take our groomers a little more time than just Tuesday night to put the hill back together. Because of this, we’re going to remain closed beyond the formerly set re-opening date of Wednesday 3/6 and focus our efforts on getting the hill in the best shape possible for the weekend. The current plan is to re-open on Friday 3/8, but we’ll be reconvening on Wednesday to make sure that we won’t need to push that back to Saturday. Continue to keep an eye on our website and social accounts for additional updates on hours and closures.
Taking a look ahead at next week, which looks like it’ll be starting out warm and rainy, we’ll be closed on Monday 3/4 & Tuesday 3/5. We’ll then be re-opening on Wednesday 3/6 with regular hours AND some discounted mid-week tickets 👀

Bonus Day’s for season passholders will be beginning on Wednesday 3/6! That means all of our season passes, whether a platinum, silver, or night pass, will be valid all day every day that we’re open from 3/6 through the end of the season!

Mother Nature may be trying to tell you to hit the golf course, but we’ve still got some spring skiing left in us ❄️ This crew is as determined as ever to keep you skiing until St Patrick’s Day 🍀
